We're straight with you about how we handle your data. No hidden terms, no funny business.
Quick summary
A Quick Word
Running a business in Africa comes with enough challenges — worrying about your data shouldn't be one of them. This policy explains in plain language what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do (and don't do) with it. We've kept it straightforward because that's how we operate.
The Details
Tap on each section to read the full details. We've kept it human-readable.
When you sign up, we collect your name, email, phone number, and basic business info. This is so we can set up your store and reach you when we need to — nothing more.
Your products, prices, inventory, and sales figures live on our platform. We use this solely to power your online store and give you useful insights about your business.
We don't store your full card details or bank login credentials on our servers. Payments are processed through trusted, secure payment partners like Paystack and Flutterwave who are regulated by the CBN.
We track which features you use most and how you navigate the platform. This helps us figure out what's working, what's confusing, and what to build next.
We use your data to keep your store running — processing orders, managing inventory, handling payments, and making sure customers can find your products.
We'll send you important updates about your account, security alerts, and occasionally tips to help your business grow. You can opt out of the marketing bits at any time.
We look at how vendors and customers use the platform (as a whole, not individual snooping) to improve features, fix bugs, and build tools that actually help you sell more.
We use your information to spot suspicious activity, prevent fraud, and keep your store and your customers' data safe from bad actors.
When someone visits your store, they'll see your business name, products, and whatever contact info you've chosen to display. You control what's public.
We work with trusted third parties for payment processing (Paystack, Flutterwave), hosting, and analytics. They only access the data they need, and they're bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
If Nigerian law, a court order, or a regulatory authority requires us to share information, we'll comply. But we'll always tell you about it unless we're legally prevented from doing so.
Let's be clear: we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. Your data is yours. Full stop.
Your data is encrypted both in transit (when it's moving) and at rest (when it's stored). We use the same industry-standard security measures trusted by banks and fintech companies across Africa.
Not everyone on our team can see your data. Access is restricted to staff who genuinely need it to help you — like our support team when you reach out with an issue.
In the unlikely event of a data breach, we won't hide it. We'll notify you promptly, explain what happened, and tell you exactly what we're doing to fix it and prevent it from happening again.
Your account settings are always open. You can update your name, email, phone number, business details — whatever you need — at any time.
Want to leave? You can request full deletion of your account and data. We'll process it within 30 days. Some data may be kept longer if Nigerian law requires it (like financial records for tax purposes).
You can request a copy of all the data we hold about you in a portable format. Just reach out to our support team.
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're out. We'll still send you important account notifications though — those aren't marketing.
Some cookies are needed for the platform to work — they keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and protect against security threats. These can't be turned off.
We use analytics to understand overall usage patterns — things like which pages are most popular and where people get stuck. This helps us improve the experience for everyone.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Just know that turning off certain cookies might affect how some parts of the platform work.
Good to Know
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we'll delete or anonymize your data within 90 days. We may hold onto certain records longer where Nigerian law requires it — for example, transaction records for tax and regulatory purposes.
Vendeey is built for business owners and entrepreneurs. You need to be at least 18 years old to use our platform. If we discover that someone under 18 has created an account, we'll close it and delete the data immediately.
Your data may be processed on servers outside Nigeria to ensure reliability and speed. When this happens, we make sure your data is protected by the same standards we apply locally, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
We may update this policy as our platform evolves or as regulations change. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through a banner on the platform. If you keep using Vendeey after a change, that means you're okay with the update.
