The rules of the road for using Vendeey. Plain English, no lawyer-speak.
The essentials
Before We Start
These terms set out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. We've written them to be clear and fair — because building trust with the vendors and businesses we serve across Africa is more important to us than hiding behind legal jargon. By using Vendeey, you're agreeing to these terms, so please give them a read.
The Terms
Tap on each section to read the details. We've written it so it actually makes sense.
By signing up or using Vendeey, you're agreeing to these terms. If anything here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use the platform — we'd rather be upfront than have misunderstandings down the line.
As Vendeey grows and regulations evolve, we may need to update these terms. When we make meaningful changes, we'll give you a heads-up via email or a notice on the platform. If you keep using Vendeey after that, it means you're fine with the updates.
You need to be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into agreements in Nigeria (or wherever you're operating from). By signing up, you're confirming that's the case.
When you create an account, give us accurate information — your real name, real email, real business details. This isn't just for our records; it's how your customers will trust you too.
Your login credentials are your responsibility. Don't share your password, and let us know immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account. Whatever happens under your account, you're responsible for it.
If we find that you're violating these terms, engaging in fraud, or doing anything dodgy on the platform, we reserve the right to suspend or close your account. We'll try to give you a heads-up first, but in serious cases we may need to act quickly.
Use Vendeey for legitimate business only. That means following Nigerian law and whatever laws apply in your state or country of operation. Common sense stuff — don't use the platform for anything illegal.
You're responsible for everything you list on your store — descriptions, photos, prices, availability. Make sure your products are legal, accurately described, and don't infringe on anyone else's trademarks or copyrights.
When someone buys from your store, that's a relationship between you and them. You handle order fulfilment, refunds, complaints, and customer service. We provide the tools — you provide the experience.
You're responsible for understanding and complying with tax obligations for your business, including VAT, withholding tax, or any other levies required by FIRS or your state tax authority.
Don't sell counterfeit goods, stolen items, drugs, weapons, or anything that's illegal under Nigerian law. This is non-negotiable — we'll shut it down immediately and may report it to the authorities.
No fake products, misleading descriptions, inflated prices with fake discounts, or any other deceptive practices. Your customers deserve better, and so does the Vendeey community.
Don't try to hack, scrape, overload, or mess with the platform in any way. Don't spam other vendors or customers. Don't try to bypass our security or payment systems.
Keep your store professional. No hate speech, no defamatory content, no content that violates anyone's privacy or rights. We're building a marketplace people can trust.
The Vendeey platform — our code, design, logo, name, and features — belongs to us. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute any part of it without our written permission.
Your product photos, descriptions, brand assets, and store content remain yours. By uploading them to Vendeey, you're giving us permission to display and distribute them as needed to run your store — but we won't use your content for anything else without asking.
If someone's intellectual property is being infringed on our platform, we take it seriously. If you spot a problem, contact us and we'll investigate. Equally, if you're the one infringing, we'll take action.
Vendeey offers a free plan with core features to get you started. For full functionality and a verified badge, you can upgrade to a paid plan. Prices are listed on our pricing page in Naira (₦) and paid plans are charged on a recurring basis.
Depending on your plan, there may be small fees on transactions processed through the platform. These are always shown clearly — no hidden charges. Payment processing fees from providers like Paystack or Flutterwave may also apply.
We handle refunds on a case-by-case basis and in line with our refund policy. If you're on a paid plan and it's genuinely not working for you, reach out to our support team and we'll sort it out.
The Legal Bits
We do our best to keep Vendeey running smoothly, but we can't promise it'll be perfect 100% of the time. The platform is provided "as is" — we're not liable for downtime, data loss, or any indirect damages that come from using the service. That said, when things go wrong, we fix them as fast as we can.
If your use of Vendeey leads to a legal claim against us — say, because you sold prohibited items or violated someone's rights — you agree to cover our costs, including legal fees. We're not trying to scare you; this is standard and it's there to keep things fair for everyone on the platform.
Vendeey connects with services like Paystack, Flutterwave, and delivery providers to make your business run. These are separate companies with their own terms and policies. We pick our partners carefully, but we can't be held responsible for how they operate on their end.
If there's ever a dispute between us, let's try to talk it out first — a conversation usually goes further than a lawsuit. If we can't resolve it informally, the matter will be settled through arbitration under Nigerian law. No drama, just a fair process.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Whether you're selling from Lagos, Kano, or anywhere else, this is the legal framework that applies.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, make up the full agreement between you and Vendeey. They replace anything we may have said or written before.
